I feel like a million dollars says proud Myles Lewis-Skelly after impressing during Arsenal's North London derby victory 

Myles Lewis-Skelly has been speaking after another excellent performance for Arsenal to help win the North London derby 

It's been quite a season for Arsenal's talented young gun Myles Lewis Skelly.

Not content with making his debut at the home of four-times Premier League champions Manchester City back in September - and standing up to Erling Haaland's taunting the youngster, the precocious 18-year-old has caught the eye in 15 more first team matches. 

The Hale End academy graduate - who once scored a 120th minute free-kick winner to beat City's U18s side to reach the FA Youth Cup final - has been busy impressed for Mikel Arteta's first team during this campaign.

So much so, that the teenager has been keeping out £100m-worth of footballers, including summer signing Riccardo Calafiori, as well as Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney.

And on Wednesday evening the calm Lewis-Skelly was thrown into the cauldron that is the North London derby - with his performance earning plaudits near and far. 

"I feel like a million dollars. I had to put on a show for my grandma," the proud Lewis-Skelly admitted to Arsenal legend Ian Wright after the match. 

Moments earlier, the youngster showed his mettle, after refusing to be intimidated after being involved in a tussle with Spurs' Lucas Bergvall, while he was being substituted in the 87th minute - prior to the young defender whipping up the crowd as he left the pitch to a massive roar from the fans who lapped it up. 

Speaking with icon Wright, the teenager shared how he felt.

"Just happy. Just taking it in, soaking it in. Yes sir! This is amazing man," Lewis-Skelly said.

"My mum was here, my family, my friends. I had to put on a show for my grandma, make sure that I didn't look soft in front of her. I had to make sure I was winning my tackles for her and hopefully she was proud of me.

"It was everything that lived up to my dreams. I had to take in every moment. I was not afraid of anyone. I want to be the best and you've got to go up against the best.

"I feel pressure, but this is what we live for. I feel like a million dollars," Lewis-Skelly added.

Lewis-Skelly, who impressed during Arsenal's pre-season US tour with Mikel Arteta's first-team squad, featuring against Bournemouth at LA Galaxy and against Manchester United at the state of the art So-Fi Stadium in Los Angeles, is also beign monitored by new England boss Thomas Tuchel, ahead of the Three Lions' World Cup qualyfying campaign starts in March. 

If he is selected, not much will faze the level-headed No59, who became the became the second-youngest Arsenal player to start in a north London derby in the Premier League after Cesc Fabregas in 2004-05.
