Can AW deal with the big players anymore? Has he got the fight/spirit to cope with big egos after the problems with Henry, Diarra and Gallas?
I think being headmaster of the London Colney Boys’ Club where he holds complete and utter control over a group of pampered whippersnappers (with a couple of older prefects to help) is a much easier option for our 59 year old leader than having to cope with opionated wordly-wise seasoned professionals who will 'say it is as it is' and who could undermine him.
When AW came to the club he had a dressing room with TA6, Uncle Bouldy, Wrighty, Keown and countless internationals who would not be shy about coming forward and voicing an opinion, he had to grasp the nettle and prove he was in charge and not the soft touch that at first look he appeared.
Now he has a dressing room full of young millionaires who have won f**k all and don't know the meaning of the word GRAFT. If you need to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in for some hard work you don't go and enlist the local branch of the boys brigade to do it.
I feel that AW is taking the easy route of dealing with younger players because he can't cope with the big personalities anymore. Old red-nose Taggart doesn't have a problem because he is a sociopath and likewise MaureenO/Scolari. They live for the daily battles, but AW is not a fighter and I feel all he wants is that his young charges are allowed to play beautiful football and win trophies so he can enjoy the quiet life as he meanders towards his retirement.
Wake up and smell the coffee as this is not going to happen and EVERY club in the country must fancy taking on the fancy Dans of North London with the soft underbelly with their currently deluded manager.
