Will we… won’t we? To be honest it’s all getting a little bit tedious and highly frustrating… again. I of course refer to Arsenal’s transfer dealings. Or apparent lack of them. Arsharvin has now been linked to us strongly for over three Weeks. So why is it all taking so long???
To me it’s pretty easy to sort… you offer money to Zenit. They accept or reject. If they accept, you offer the player money. They accept or reject. If they accept, deal done. Or am I missing something??? Ok I simplify a little, but most other clubs seem to be able to bid, negotiate and complete within 24 hours of showing interest in a player, so why can’t we?
If we continue to haggle over a couple of million with Zenit, then Man City will have him away from under our noses. Time to pay up Arsenal… you can’t get the finished article on the cheap nowadays.
How many other players over the next week or so could slip away because we argue the toss over £1 million in transfer fees, or over £5k a week in wages?
I have this deep, dark feeling that Feb 2nd midnight will again simply pass us by and Arsene will have to hope that our returning injured players will be enough to carry us to the holy grail which is fourth place.
