Some doom and gloom ahead of West Ham’s visit

Arshavin: Just pay the money

I have to get a couple of things of my chest. My main gripe is thIs Arshavin business. Why on earth are we arguing the toss over £3m? I know it's hard to know the facts because of our "no comment" attitude to transfers but the fact is if Arsene likes the player and thinks he can add value what the f**k are we doing dropping two value points at Everton which might be the difference between 4th and 5th, when he could surely have made the creative difference in our stomach churningly bad midfield?

Suddenly the £3m saved on Arshavin compared against the estimated loss of circa £50m for non-CL qualification and the loss of RVP and Cesc to Barca, Madrid or God forbid Chelsea and it's obviously an easy choice. Not only that we play an in form West Ham still with no Arshavin when surely this deal could have been done a month ago.

I mean for f**k’s sake even Garry Cook could tie this deal up. If the club are so clearly ambivalent towards transfers and striking the Arshavin deal, when the likes of Villa are securing Emile Heskey in a bid to take 4th place or better, then why shouldn't fans haggle over the cost of our season tickets (don't get me started on this subject).

The whole thing is bloody depressing quite frankly and all the while we are watching Song, Eboue and Diaby / Denilson going through the motions showing no passion or fight for the games against so-called lesser teams.

I'm not just having a go at Arsene here as we all know he's made some monumental f**k ups this year, but he has earned his place and we are not going to do a Martin Jol style sacking (I hope), but it's the structure round him that clearly is in bits. Presumably Ivan Gazidas will go some way to sorting this out.

The whole club is so different to the one I grew up with. This is my 13th year (I think) as a season ticket holder and I have serious doubts at to whether there will be a 14th. I stress this is not just a performance related issue. A combination of financial climate, travel issues still not sorted on tube despite club promises, lack of my season ticket money spent on a proper centre half, watching Song every week, board takeovers, £3.50 pints, £6 burgers, and greedy c***s like Adebayor.

Anyway I could go on but I fear you would all slit your wrists. See you tomorrow for another turgid performance and a last minute equalizer from the only current squad member not injured who has the quality to play for the club. Van the man.
