What is the point of Emmanuel Eboue?

Topical question for you!

What is the point of Emmanuel Eboue?

Oh dear. It gets worse.

I don’t have Sky, my local watering hole has stopped its subscription and I can’t abide the Aussie Walkabout which is the nearest place to me which has Sky. So I listened to the radio yesterday. Radio 5Live suggested there wasn’t much wrong with the “goal” but I trust our esteemed editor’s view that there was a stupid push by Eboue.

However, when it was disallowed I thought to myself, there’s trouble ahead. He’ll get himself booked and he’ll probably get himself sent off if Wenger doesn’t haul him off. Little did I think it would happen before half time.

So this morning I ask Arsenal Football Club the simple question? What is the point of Emmanuel Eboue?

Last week we were insulted by the pathetic efforts of the Arsenal PR machine’s attempts at rehabilitating him. Visiting a school, posing for pictures, fawning profile interview in The Guardian (surely The Guardian has better standards?). And then to cap it all, we are told he is sorry for getting sent off and he will learn to control himself.

I might accept the occasional lapse if such lapses were interspersed with periods of brilliant play. After all, we forgave PV4 his regular bouts of red mist because of everything else he gave to the club. But Eboue, you are no PV4. And, Mr Wenger, he is nowhere near the Romford Pele for his endeavour or commitment.

I am sure I am not the only one who is fed up with Eboue’s diving, cheating, moaning, whingeing, complaining and throwing his arms in the air as if the entire world is against him. I hope he never appears in an Arsenal shirt again, but he will. But why?

So, Arsenal, please tell us – what is the point of Emmanuel Eboue?
