It’s not all doom-laden amongst the Arsenal faithful

Two or three new signings and we're in good shape to win the title

Jamie Edge: Not yet old enough to legally procreate, and hopefully not the last signing of the summer

Well Gooners a news season awaits, praise the Lord. And once again we look forward to a new season full of hope and expectation. As per usual the signings are pretty sparse so far just Vermaelen and the young Jamie Edge who is 15.

We are now one week from the kick off at Everton and so far the expected experienced signings (Vermaelen apart) have not materialised. I do find it rather strange that we have had since the end of last season to make enquiries about Hangeland at Fulham but we wait until he is cup tied now for Champions League games until January. Strange way to do business if you ask me.

All the years I have been following Arsenal I have never known us go for a player, make an offer, agree personal terms, then sign him. It always has to be drawn out and take an eternity to get him, eg Arshavin last January.

I have a good feeling about this season, I think we will be challenging early which makes a change for us, as we have usually lost it by the end of October. Worryingly though, our injury jinx seems to be threatening again, with Nasri, and now Rosicky out. That’s two senior players and we haven't even kicked off the new season yet.

We have done some good business in the selling department though, to get rid of the lazy sod for £22 million was fantastic news, and £15 million for Toure even better. Senderos seems to be Everton bound, and we are being teased with the news that Fiorentina want Eboue for £9 million. Bloody hell, Xmas in August!

A couple of good signings, maybe three to come in and I think we're in good shape. Anyway I think this season is going to be our season and I predict more silverware come to Highbury this season. And I'm happy calling our stadium Highbury as it's right next door to the old ground.
