What makes Arsenal so special? It is because we have players like Kolo Toure an absolute credit to his country, a gentleman and a thoroughly decent human being to boot? He harks back to the Corinthian days of football. Over the top? So what?

I just think he is one of many great Arsenal players who have just fitted in seamlessly at our wonderful club and the news that he has just signed a long term deal along with another great player (Cesc) will give our club the stability to launch our assaults on football’s glittering prizes.

I firmly believe “King Kolo” is worth £30 million of anyone’s money but we will never know his monetary value because he is not going anywhere. He is another great one club man who I think will become one of the world’s greatest defenders (he’s not far short of that accolade at the moment).

The genuine “Right Stuff” who values the club above anything else in his life, he will be our captain for years to come and I believe he will be the man who finally lifts the European Champions League trophy for the Arsenal. It would somehow just be so correct if he had that honour, as there is something in his demeanour that makes it more plausible that he and not Henry will lift that “Silver Urn”.
