Received a request from the Arsenal Supporters’ Trust to help them out with a scheme for those thinking of buying a ticket for the forthcoming international friendly.
Here’s the message they want to relay…
Scotland play Brazil at Arsenal’s stadium on Sunday March 27th and the organisers of the match have kindly offered to make a contribution of £5 to the AST for every ticket bought by an Arsenal Supporter through the Trust.
The Trust is a voluntary body and all of the monies we receive are invested in our efforts to increase supporter ownership and involvement at Arsenal through schemes such as Arsenal Fanshare
All you have to do is quote the special promotional code of BRSCT11 when you either go the Arsenal website and book online or call Ticketmaster on 0844 277 3625.
In our members’ survey conducted last summer, AST members called for more commercial use of Arsenal’s stadium to support the club’s self-sustaining business model and we are pleased to be able to support this match and thank the organisers for their kind offer to support Arsenal fans who call the stadium home.
Okay, PR bit over. If you are thinking of attending and haven’t yet bought a ticket, this helps the Trust, who I anticipate will be putting some pressure on the board to start examining whether the club’s finances are being put to the best possible use with regard to the raison d’etre of any football club – the attempt to win trophies!!! Buying with the code means that –
1. Every ticket sold helps the AST
2. Every ticket sold helps the Arsenal business plan which in theory helps to keep the price of our tickets down (or so I am told by those at the Trust). It also fits in with the Trust’s remit in calling for more commercialization.
