Money on Wales v England to line up free bet for Blackburn game

Cardiff: Home of some good Gooner memories

So another disappointing day in the office last week meant the 2-2 draw with the Baggies was not a larger payoff for our 1-2 prediction. We lost both the qualifier bet and our freebet at ToteSport so we come out of the last week with a clean +£15 in Betfair and we trundle on. Arsenal do not play until the 2nd April because of this weekend’s Euro 2012 qualifiers so that is what we will bet on this week in order to get another freebet to use in the Blackburn game. The total bankroll as we move into this week is now £230.

This week I have registered at a lesser known bookmaker called Samvo, if you join here you can see at the bottom left of the homepage an advert for a 100% freebet (in the box headed “Register Now’). Click on that banner and you go to the registration page. Register your details and you will see the Promotion code FREE30 is filled in for you, if it is not then add it. Deposit £30 by any method you want to but Moneybookers is probably best. From now on I will use that where I can as it is less trouble than using a bank card all the time. When I did this I deposited £30 and was ready to go straight away. There is no sign of/reference to the freebet yet but I went onto "live chat", they said it was fine and would be added 48hrs after my first football bet at odds over 1.8 was settled.

Finding the England vs Wales match was not that easy, from the left hand panel I chose "Soccer Early" (but presumably if you are reading this on Saturday choose "Soccer Today") then "Win Draw Win" and halfway down saw the list of Euro Qualifier games. The odds on an England win for the Full Time result are not favourable. As I think England are going to walk it with Wales yet to record any Group G wins or points and Gareth Bale out injured. The 1.35 outright win odds reflect this and are too low to count towards getting a £30 freebet. So instead there is the half time result odds in the 5th column from the right, 1.89 for England to be winning at half time. So clicking that opens a new betslip and the £30 submitted on it will return a profit of £26.70. (Ed’s note – the odds had drifted in to 1.88 by the time I placed this bet, but it should remain above 1.8 which is what we need for this to unlock the free bet)

Of course it is possible that England will not come out all guns blazing and so to make sure we don’t lose anything overall I have laid (pink button) £20 of Backers stake at odds of 2 at Betfair. To find that market I went to Football Fixtures on the 26th, then Wales vs England, the market is called "half time". The line to select the pink button on is England (HT). (Ed’s note, this bet was 1.99 when I laid it, so just select whatever the odds are as long as you are betting before the kick off as they will not change that dramatically.) Laying that means I will either win or lose around £20.

If England are winning at Half time then:
Samvo +£26.70 and Betfair -£20 so +£6.70 profit AND a £30 freebet for next week.

If England are NOT winning at Half time then:
Samvo -£30 and Betfair +£20 so -£10 loss BUT a £30 freebet for next week.

You can of course hedge the bets however you want but that is what I have decided is a good trade off for me. I really can’t see the current Wales team - even on home soil - performing and England will be there to get an early goal knowing that if it is 0-0 at half time Wales will park the bus looking for a point in the second half. Regardless of the result I will leave the money where it is waiting for next week when the £30 freebet from Samvo will be used. After that I will withdraw from everywhere hopefully at a bankroll over £250 by that stage but the exact figure will depend on how the bets go.

So come on England, but remember, Why Gamble when you can Win?
