Another draw, another dollar?

Week 8, Part 2 of our gambling scheme moves on to Arsenal v Blackburn.

Another draw, another dollar?

Cesc: Back – but can he help the boys to 3 points?

So after Arsenal letting us down in recent weeks, finally one of our bets has come in. Thanks to Lampard actually scoring a penalty for once and Bent finding his England scoring form it meant England locked us in with a £6.70 profit from our qualifying bet. My faith in the Gunners still remains high but our form is poor at the moment is poor and I could see us in for another draw this week. When we met Blackburn at Ewood Park earlier in the season we managed a 2-1 victory but at the same time we’ve recently dropped points to both Sunderland and West Brom. I can see it being a very tense affair with Arsenal playing shortly after the other title challengers and Blackburn still with a lot to play for this season being just one point outside the drop zone. So my money’s on a draw.

We’ve now unlocked our £30 bonus bet at Samvo. As I said mentioned last time it’s not the most user-friendly site to navigate but finding the Arsenal game isn’t too difficult. I’m submitting the bet on the Friday so I’ve clicked on “Soccer”, “Soccer – Early” and “Win Draw Win”. (If you’re doing this on game day click on “Soccer – Today”). The Win Draw Win is just another way of saying match odds. So make sure it’s in the full-time market and click on the draw which at the moment has odds of “6.20”. When it opens the betting slip click on bonus where it says “Wallet:” and type in your full £30 bonus. (NB – make sure you click on the ‘bonus’ button next to ‘wallet’ below the stake on the betslip as by default it is set to ‘balance’ – you need to change this to use the bonus £30. When you click first ‘bet’ and then ‘confirm’ you will see the bonus amount above the bestslip change to zero)

At Betfair go through the usual drop down process on the left hand side. Select “Football”, “English Football”, “Barclays Premier League” and then finally “view full market” for Arsenal v Blackburn. Click on “match odds” and lay the draw, so click the pink button and enter £20. It had odds “6.8” when I did this, so the profits should work out at… (Ed’s note – This had drifted to “7” when I laid it, so I staked £19.50 on this outcome to give me a liability of £117, so alter your stake to give you’re a liability of around £116, does not have to be spot on for the scheme to work)

- It’s a draw, +£40. (-116 at Betfair, +156 at Samvo)

- Arsenal or Blackburn win, +£20. (+20 at Betfair, -30 FREE bonus stake at Samvo)

If our bet does actually come in then we’re looking at £40 which is a slightly smaller profit than recent weeks as the draw is fairly likely and the odds are shorter. But with the return of Fabregas and Walcott it may just give us that extra boost to get back to winning ways so if the draw doesn’t come in than £20 is still a very tidy profit to make from them game. So there you have it again…
