Kingsmeadow Stadium: Get yourself down there

Ok, my old pal Andrew Farley has requested a plug for this one, and in fairness to the great man, his involvement with the Arsenal ex-pro and celebrity XI means he could ask me for a lot more. So am happy to oblige on this one, and as always, it’s for a couple of worthy charities.

Long and short of it is that a Chelsea Old Boys selection is likely – due to the location and profile of this game – to field a pretty decent team with a few names. And as the game is in the heart of opposition territory, if we can get some Arsenal fans along to cheer our boys, then hopefully things won’t be one-sided. There’s plenty of other entertainment on offer aside from the match. So Andrew’s asked me to give a plug to the game next Sunday. Here are all the details he supplied…

On Sunday 7th August 2011 the Arsenal Charity Team will be taking on Chelsea FC Old Boys at the Kingsmeadow Athletics Stadium in Kingston. Included in the Arsenal squad are Paul Davies, Ian Selly and Chris Whyte (all Ex Arsenal), Sam Attwater (Dancing On Ice), Ralf Little (Royal Family), Fenton Gee (International DJ), Terry Marsh (Ex World Boxing Champion) and Charlie Hawkins (Eastenders). The Chelsea squad includes ex players Kerry Dixon, Ray Wilkins, Tore Andre Flo, Clive Walker, Peter Bonnetti, Dave Beasent, Gary Chivers, Ken Monkou and many more. The match is to raise money for Help for Heroes and the Arsenal Charitable Trust and kicks off at 1.00pm. It is all part of a Summer Fun Day which includes a pop concert starring Glee the musical and a Michael Jackson Tribute. Also there are fairground rides, a kids zone (including face painters, clowns and inflatables) a furry animal zoo and over 60 craft stalls. Food and drink is available all day. Gates open at 11am.

Admission is £10 adults £4 children or £20 for a family ticket (2 Adults and 2 Children)
