As many Gooners predicted last week the Swansea match showed we are still nowhere near we need to be. The 2-1 prediction could have easily come in had our players remembered how to hit the target and Swansea’s Graham didn’t miss his sitter but nevertheless there is still a profit to be made from Betdaq. The games against Swansea and Dortmund have been nothing great but we’ve done just enough and they are small steps to recovering from what has been one of the darkest moments to be an Arsenal fan. Arteta and Song showed some of the passion which has been missing from the players, Song in particular had a good second half and managed to recover the mistakes of Koscielny on more than one occasion.
The Premier League fixtures continue to be kind to us in our time of need to bounce back and we face Blackburn this weekend. They’ve looked truly woeful this season and look significantly worse than Swansea and the other two promoted sides. Betfair now has them as third favourites for relegation at 2.28, as QPR’s deadline day business has drifted their odds out to 3.55. Anyway I can’t see our performance improving too much but after seeing Van Persie in the post-match interview at Dortmund he looked in surprisingly good spirits and Pat Rice could well be right saying that we are now starting to turn a corner on the poor start to the season. Being away from home I’m sure Van Persie is likely to bag another goal and I can see it being a relatively comfortable win – for this reason I’m opting for the 2-0 Arsenal. So log back into Betdaq – ensure you are placing your bet under the ‘exchange bet’ tab - and place the refunded £30 in the correct score market of “Blackburn v Arsenal” on “Arsenal 2-0”. As I did this it had odds of 9.8 meaning a potential profit of £264.
At Betfair click the pink box to lay the Arsenal 2-0 with £20 (shown as 0-2 as we are the away team). (Ed’s note – if there is not enough available to cover the entire £20 bet, cancel the unmatched portion of your stake, remembering what that is, and then simply place that amount on the odds available in the pink box when you return to the correct score market) As I did this the odds were 11.5 meaning a potential liability of £210 and the following outcomes...
- Arsenal win 2-0: +£54 (+264 at Betdaq, -210 at Betfair)
- Arsenal fail to win 2-0: -£10 (-30 at Betdaq, +20 at Betfair)
If arsenal fail to win 2-0 than it may appear as we’ve made a £10 loss but we are in fact using the same £30 stake from last week as it had been refunded to us. That means we’ve had 2 x £20 winnings made at Betfair and lost just £30 from Betdaq so we are in fact +£10 overall. If Arsenal do win 2-0 it illustrates what I was trying to explain with 188bet that when the correct markets are there we have two shots at trying to make a profit and if this one comes in we’ll be +£74 overall from Betdaq.
Did anybody have any issues claiming back the free £10 promotional offer? They seem to be quite a troublesome bookmaker of late. If so what has everybody backed? I’ve opted for Theo Walcott first goalscorer at odds of 8. RVP to get the second in a 2-0 win I hope.
