Last week’s game against Tottenham ended 2-1 and had we of managed another goal it would have brought us a decent return with the 2-2 bet coming in. Nevertheless it’s still £15 and we move on.
Since the North London derby defeat there have been murmurs that we may find ourselves in a relegation battle. The bookies certainly don’t reflect this and they have still have us at odds of 1.48 and sixth favourites for a top 6 finish - coming in slightly behind Liverpool and Tottenham. An interesting question was posed to Alan Smith on Sunday as he was asked would you take sixth spot if it was offered to you now? For many Gunners fans this simply isn’t good enough but with the current injuries and complete lack of understanding as to how to defend as a team maybe it’s the most we can hope for.
Anyway the Gooner Gambling Scheme will be back next week as it looks to extract a profit from the Arsenal v Sunderland game. In the meantime all those that signed up for BlueSQ should still be in line for another instalment of a free £10 bet. After I thought they had started to buck their ideas up they again didn’t award the promotional £10 bet to me this week. As ever if it’s happened to you e-mail [email protected] with details of your qualifying bet and they should get back to you pretty quickly. For me, I’m pretty sure this is the fourth and final of the £10 bets to be awarded, to see how many you are due just go to ‘My Account’ and check ‘Account History’. If you are due another £10 bet then the 1.73 for the England win qualifies so just be sure to lay the outcome at Betfair. Remember, you need to cover the £10 you are placing at Blue Sq by ensuring you win that much on Betfair. At current odds, laying an England win will give you a liability of £7.70 if you lay £10, so if you do lose the £10 on Blue Sq, you will make it back on Betfair, although if England do win you will make £7.30 profit there which more or less negates the loss on Betfair. But of course, by unlocking the free £10 bet, there is the chance of more substantial profit to be made when you place your free £10 bet.
This week, with my free bet, although I’d like to back a Theo Walcott goal but with the same odds of 5.5 being offered for ‘Ashley Young to score and England to win’ and ‘Theo Walcott to score and England to win’ I see the Ashley Young bet as better value, so I’ll be backing him.
