You Give Me Fever!

Competition time. Win tickets to an exclusive Fever Pitch screening with Perry Groves.

You Give Me Fever!

If you’ve never seen the film Fever Pitch, then I’m not quite sure what you are doing reading the Online Gooner. However, regardless of whether you’ve seen it once, twice, a hundred times or never, here’s an opportunity for you to see it in the presence of a man who is actually in it. Calm down ladies, it’s not Colin Firth, but the one and only El Pel!

The Hanbury Arms in Linton Street, Islington is hosting an Arsenal film evening in support of the Homeless FA charity on Thursday 5th April which starts with a screening of the Nick Hornby classic, Fever Pitch and will be followed by a Q&A session with the legend that is Perry Groves.

As if that wasn’t enough, the evening will be rounded off with an auction for some pieces of Arsenal memorabilia including a 1970-71 replica goalkeeping jersey signed by Bob Wilson and a limited edition 2006 print of Emirates signed by Arsene Wenger and the club captain of the time, Thierry Henry.

Tickets for this event are now sold out, but we have a pair to give away to a lucky Online Gooner reader.

To be in the hat, you just have to tell us which number shirt Perry Groves wore at Anfield on 26th May 1989?

Email your answers to [email protected] by midnight on Wednesday 28th March and we’ll announce the lucky winner by the end of the week. Please only enter the competition if you can actually attend the event. The prize only includes tickets, not travel or accommodation.

The Homeless FA supports all initiatives that use football as a means of improving the lives of homeless people in England. They believe that every person has the potential to change their lives positively and that football can facilitate such a transformation.

They use football to give every person experiencing homelessness in England the opportunity to develop their skills and abilities, to gain self-respect and confidence, to improve their health, and ultimately to transform their life.

In 2012 the Homeless FA are piloting a Training Centre programme with Manchester United, Everton and, most importantly, Arsenal. This programme is based around incentivised learning and will deliver qualifications for all participants as well as an incredible experience at the football club.
