Those regular readers may recall my own brush with the law back in March, and as it’s a quiet period over the next ten days before Arsenal start their pre-season fixtures, I will be writing with some positive suggestions about how the club can play a part in ensuring genuine fans helping out others get into the game by selling spare seats at face value next week.
Meanwhile, I have been contacted by the Football Supporters' Federation, who are conducting a survey regarding the policing of top flight football, to request that all interested supporters give their views.
Over to Amanda Jacks of the FSF: "Supporter issues around policing and stewarding fill our mailbag perhaps more than any others. This survey will help the FSF better understand the views of supporters of Premier League and Championship clubs in relation to the policing and stewarding they experience. The outcomes of these surveys will assist the FSF’s work in improving relationships between fans and those responsible for matchday decisions and safety. They will also help us in deciding where best to focus our efforts next season. "
The 40-question survey, which is entirely anonymous, can be found here.
So there you have it. If you want a supporters’ organisation that represents the fans to the authorities to reflect your own views and concerns, please complete the survey. I just did and it took me five minutes in total.
