Bouldy: Will he make a difference?

Gooner Podcast number 109, sponsored by goonershirts is now online

Recorded: Friday 24th August 2012

Okay, some slight issues with this one. Apologies in advance for the slight distortion, we’ll get that right next time around. Also, a change of tack in the decision to do one longer podcast per month instead of three shorter ones. They are all recorded on the same night regardless, so it makes no difference to the topicality. There has been a slight delay getting his one online due to some now resolved technical issues. So excuse the references to the upcoming Stoke game. Think we need to do a bit more pre-season training next summer!

Topics Include -
The opening game of the season. How promising do the new signings look?
Thoughts on the departing players.
Arsenal’s place in the football food chain.
Will the appointment of Steve Bould make a difference to the way the team play?
Thomas Vermaelen’s appointment as captain.
Who should the club try to sign before the close of the transfer window?

Panel:
Marc Ollington
Kevin Whitcher
Bernard Azulay
Host: David Oudot

Best podcast so far. All three panelists were superb. I have always enjoyed Mark Ollington's Gooner articles but feel his surreal style has not always translated well to the podcast. He can be good when not trying to compete with Don Deb or Ashord for laughs. Here, though, he is excellent. He is still eccentric but makes a succesion of great points (the profit of Wenger's dealings being one). Kevin is his great, dry self. He should be on every podcast as he is the editor and a natural broadcaster. And Bernard, whilst too quietly spoken, is a delight to listen too with some really great points. A really great listen. Thank you.

Can i ask a simple question? Why isnt it recorded weekly? Its a very good podcast but its always in the past tense.Record on a monday and have it online by wednesday at the latest.Just think if there was one this week they could talk about the Liverpool game the transfer window and the Walcott contact while it is all fresh news.By the way Bernard a great addition to the panel

Good podcast, but can you get it out closer to when it was recorded? Also, one of you said that you looked forward to the day when we were in the position to buy one of Man Utd's players from them. Last time we did that was Silvestre.

Excellent podcast.Panel was great Bernard Azulay an added bonus. No silliness which crept in last season. But it needs to be up to date.It needs to be weekly. One a month is a real waste.

A lot better panel this time around. Bernard Azulaey was great and Ollington made good point after good point without resorting to silliness. Kevin is always great. I agree that this can't be monthly anymore. This was a good debate, and the new length worked but more regular.

Interesting podcast. Arsenal beat Coventry City 2-0 in 1997, rather than 2-1 and that was the first home match of the season, the opener was a 1-1 draw at Leeds United.

Why is the podcast recorded on the 24th August but not available till September 2nd?

The podcast is great but can we have one a week? You won't compete with the other Arsenal podcasts until you do this.

Very good podcast just listened to it on the way to work.A great improvement on last season when it seemed to lose its way.Better than arseblog which is turning into a AKB podcast and The Tuesday club which has just lost it.But and its a big but the podcast needs to be more regular and up to date.Thats always been the big problem with the Gooner podcast.A week is a long time in football. I am listening to this podcast and they are talking about how they think we will get on at Stoke when the podcast is released after the Stoke game!!.What sense does that make? You always seem to be catching up on events that have already happened.Hope its wrong thats its going to be a monthly podcast.

interesting podcast especially the bouldy topic.Spot on about arsene's obsession with money except when it comes to the wages of dross and of course himself.Don't know about the sound quality was that claret i heard been poured.
