cyril- There will be no rebellion. If Marc Ollington's post in the podcast thread is, as I suspect, sadly representative, this latest transfer window debacle will simply be another lowering of expectations moment that will quickly be accepted once we've rolled over the mighty Palace on Sunday. Excuses will be made, blame will be apportioned elsewhere and we will be told to wait till the Summer, when of course there is a World Cup smack bang in the middle to disrupt negotiations and (God forbid) inflate prices. And 3rd place will be deemed a success after our opening day embarrassment against Villa, just as a top 4 finish was deemed success after the 8-2 at Old Trafford and the 0-2 to Swansea, as if the manager had absolutely nothing to do with those and other aberrations. At least it looks like Wenger has managed to get HIS megabucks contract sorted out though, so the club ARE spending serious money.

Wenger can’t be that stupid to mess this chance up of being successful this season. I can assure you that he is one or two games away from major dissention in the stadium. Tolerance to him has all but gone, and if he fails again, the locals will not be happy. The paradox that is: Wenger the most successful manager at Arsenal with 7 trophies/ Wenger the most unssuccesful Manager at Arsenal going 9 years in the ‘hot seat’ with out a trophy. I understand that no Manger has ever been at the club that long without a trophy. Reality is in 17 years, we have only tasted trophy happiness in 5 of those. ( 2 doubles). GG won six in nine years. If i could pick 3 people in the world to dine with, he would be right up there as I respect the man as an amazing human being and ambassador to football. Managing my club to success, I am not sure anymore. Please make me wrong as I will lap it up if you do …
