A friend of The Gooner and big Arsenal fan, artist Julienne Machecourt, is holding a one day exhibition of her work at the Gunners pub (204 Blackstock Rd, N5 1EN) this Saturday before and after the Manchester City match, starting at 11am. She has also offered to sell copies of the book I co-wrote with Alex Fynn for £9 by way of thanks for our plugging the event. Gooner Artist celebrates 100 years of Arsenal in Islington at The Gunners Pub.

Julienne Machecourt The Gooner Artist , will be exhibiting her latest artwork, celebrating 100 years of Arsenal in Islington, at The Gunners Pub, 204 Blackstock Road on Saturday 13th September.

The project, Arsenal in Islington since 1913, includes 12 drawings of legends such as Cliff Bastin, Joe Mercer, Liam Brady, Charlie George, Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Tony Adams and Arsene Wenger along with locations such as Highbury Stadium, The East Stand of Highbury, Gillespie Road and the Emirates Stadium.

The exhibition is the first of its kind held at The Gunners Pub and will be an informal event where Gooners can meet and chat with the artist, who is a dedicated Gooner herself and member of the AST.

On the day, there will also be the opportunity to buy some unique, high quality black and white artwork sold as framed prints, unframed prints and greeting cards at a 10% discount.

Bio

Julienne Machecourt The Gooner Artist became a full-time artist at the start of 2014 and focuses on Arsenal, the football club that she supports. Her aim is to create something unique and of value and she specialises in black and white portraits as well as home portraits. Based in West London, she has exhibited with the Ealing Art Group and her clients include Fullers Brewery and Montagu Evans in Mayfair.
