Apologies in advance, as I am a little bit against the clock this morning, but a few things to relay…
First up, the new issue of The Gooner goes on sale this evening outside the Manchester City game. It includes a free 2016 pullout calendar. The theme, with next year marking the 10th anniversary of the stadium move, is “10 Years at the Grove” and features a notable match from the last decade for every month. Full details of the issue can be found here (although I will just mention that Dwight Hart-Lane returns in an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol) and for those that cannot make it to the game (or the ones v Bournemouth, Newcastle or Sunderland) it can be bought online here. (Details of the e-edition for those of you that prefer your mags in tablet form at the bottom of this page).
Secondly…
Due to Christmas scheduling, the issue is being mailed out to subscribers today. UK subscribers should receive their copies before Christmas Day.
And finally, we mentioned this on Saturday’s exclusive, but it bears repetition…
We have received the following information from the club and have been asked to publicise it to make it a success…
There will be a special fan display ahead of Arsenal v Manchester City on Monday. To make this as successful as possible please get to your seats as early as you can and together we can welcome the teams onto the pitch in the true Arsenal way.
No idea what the display will be, but apparently it will be more detailed than the one v Bayern, so please aim to be in your seat at 7.55 so when the teams come out you can help to make it look really special. Additionally, in Greece recently, after their fans had done a pre-match display, the bags they had been handed were all waved around in the air before the match kicked off, and this looked very effective, so hopefully Gooners can imitate that after whatever the message/theme is has been displayed. Of course, this is all dependent on more people getting in a bit earlier than for a typical evening game. The 8pm start will hopefully make this easier.
Normal service will be resumed tomorrow with a piece on this evening’s game.
Over and out!
