Ok, so at a rough estimate, we are currently at approx. 400 signed up, 600 to go. Let’s start with details of what we are doing and why, by pointing anyone not aware of it to the article that kicked off our campaign back in January – that’s here.
So March sees us get serious and pull out all the stops to get the extra numbers required. We’re hopeful because of the following –
1 – We're getting support in terms of awareness from Arseblog (I’m on today’s Arsecast) and ArsenalFanTV (I’ll be recording a video with them next week). Many thanks to Andrew and Robbie for their kind support.
2 – We have a significant number of existing subcribers whose subscription ends with the final issue of the current season, and we hope most of those will re-subscribe
3 – We have a very lengthy email list of people that have contacted The Gooner or completed the annual Gooner survey down the years and we’ll be emailing the lot of them, firing some serious flak.
4 – Every copy of the current issue being sold at the stadium and sent out by post includes this form giving full details of the different payment options, so that people who buy the fanzine at matches understand that if enough of them do not subscribe, there won’t be a Gooner to buy next season. These payment options can also be viewed here.
Also, if you are reading this and want a taster of what The Gooner is like (UK addresses only) pay us 50p to cover the postage and we will send you an issue from this season (one of 266-269, unfortunately you can’t choose which). That can be ordered from our online store with a credit card via PayPal on this page.
And finally, if you wish to look at all the subscription options for next season, they can be found on this page.
So it’s over to you people. We’ll know by the time the final issue goes to press in early April whether or not it’s a case of thanks and farewell, or see you after the summer.
