Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal beat Charlton 6-0 in a friendly at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon which featured a second half hat-trick from Eddie Nketiah
The game took place behind closed doors, with coaching staff from the Gunners and the Addicks officiating.
The north Londoners went into the break with a two-goal lead against their opponents from the Championship through efforts from Alex Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Former Lyon striker Lacazette opened the scoring with a fierce drive from outside the box, before Aubameyang doubled the lead after cutting in from the left flank to curl the ball inside the far post.
Lee Bowyer split his team up, playing two different 11s in each half - which saw Eddie Nketiah notched the first of his treble after the break, to make it 3-0 by slotting home from close range in a crowded box following a Dani Ceballos free-kick.
Nketiah made it 4-0 after calmly converting a one-on-one prior to completing his trio after heading home a Joe Willock cross to make it five for the Gunners.
Willock added his name to the list of scorers to seal an emphatic 6-0 rout against the south Londoners, as the Gunners ramped up their preparations for the restart of the Premier League when they travel to the Etihad to play Manchester City on Wednesday, June 17.
