Goalkeeper – Emiliano Martinez
The Argentine is arguably the first name on the team sheet right now after a string of impressive performances since replacing the injured Bernd Leno. With Liverpool having netted 76 goals this season, Martinez will be in for a busy night at the Emirates.
Centre-back – Shkodran Mustafi
Despite a poor display against Tottenham in which his old habits returned, the German should keep his place at the back and he will be hoping for a better performance.
Centre-back – David Luiz
The Brazilian will be hoping to improve on his shocking display last time the Gunners faced Liverpool, and he should get the chance to do that at the heart of Arsenal’s defence.
Centre-back – Kieran Tierney
Sead Kolasinac should lose his place after a shocking performance against Tottenham and Tierney could take his place on the left of the back three. The Scot’s athleticism will be key if Arsenal are to deal with Liverpool’s lively attack.
Right-wing back – Hector Bellerin
The Spaniard’s position could be under threat from Cedric Soares, but he should keep his place at wing-back.
Left-wing back – Bukayo Saka
The youngster could return to his defensive position after featuring further forward in recent weeks. Saka will be tasked with providing width on the left and an attacking thrust when Arsenal have the ball.
Central midfield – Granit Xhaka
The midfielder has been one of Arsenal’s more consistent performers since the Premier League’s restart and he should keep his place.
Central midfield – Dani Ceballos
The Real Madrid loanee continues to fight for his Arsenal future and another good performance against Liverpool will only boost his chances of securing a permanent move to the Emirates.
Right-winger – Nicolas Pepe
The Ivorian showed flashes of his quality against Tottenham but lacked the cutting edge in the final third. Pepe also looked lively in the reverse fixture against Liverpool and he will be hoping to impress again.
Left-winger – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
The Arsenal captain will be keen to find the net in his battle for the golden boot, and he will also be determined to get one over on his old Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp.
Striker – Alexandre Lacazette
The Frenchman looks to be hitting some form with two goals in his last three games and he will keep his place with Eddie Nketiah suspended.
