Emiliano Martinez – 7 – Solid and commanding after an early error that saw Liverpool hit the post.
Rob Holding – 7 – A shaky first-half turned into a much better second as he stayed solid at the back.
David Luiz – 7.5 – Could have done better for Liverpool’s opener, but he marshalled the defence well under constant Liverpool pressure.
Kieran Tierney – 8.5 – Drafted into the back three and did a superb job in keep Mohamed Salah quiet. The Scot continues to impress at the back.
Cedric Soares – 4.5 – Offered little going forward and did not do enough to stop the cross for Liverpool’s opener in a poor display.
Bukayo Saka – 7 – Did well as he supported Tierney in his battle against Salah, but had little chance to get forward.
Granit Xhaka – 6.5 – Failed to get hold of the game but provided a solid shield for the Arsenal defence as Liverpool pressed forward.
Lucas Torreira – 6 – The diminutive midfielder got through plenty of work as he tried to shield the Arsenal defence from constant Liverpool pressure. Mikel Arteta will be glad to have Torreira back from injury.
Nicolas Pepe – 3 – Played in a more central role but was anonymous through as he was starved of the ball.
Reiss Nelson – 7 – A workmanlike performance was capped with a first Premier League goal, while the youngster also played his part in the opener by pressing Van Dijk into an error.
Alexandre Lacazette – 8 – In a game of few chances for Arsenal the Frenchman took his as he capitalised on Van Dijk’s error before setting up Nelson’s goal in an efficient attacking display.
Substitutes
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 5 – Offered little going forward but worked hard for the team.
Joe Willock – 4 – Worked hard but offered little going forward.
Dani Ceballos – 6 – Battle well in midfield to keep Arsenal ahead.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles – 6 – Solid at the back after coming on.
Sead Kolasinac – 6 – Solid after coming on.
