Goalkeeper – Emiliano Martinez

Another fine display at Wembley saw the Argentine keep his superb run of form going, but he will be hoping for a quieter night at Villa Park.

Centre-back – Rob Holding

With Shokdran Mustafi out after suffering a hamstring injury, Holding should come into the defence. The Englishman will be hoping to secure his place in the team ahead of the FA Cup final.

Centre-back – David Luiz

The Brazilian put in his best display as an Arsenal player against Manchester City on Saturday and he will be hoping for another good performance against Aston Villa.

Centre-back – Kieran Tierney

Despite playing in an unfamiliar role, the Scot continues to shine and should keep his place on Tuesday night.

Right-wing back – Cedric Soares

After being cup-tied for the game against Manchester City, Soares could return to the team to allow Hector Bellerin a well-earned rest.

Left-wing back – Bukayo Saka

The youngster will have been disappointed not to start at Wembley but he should be back in the starting XI to face Aston Villa.

Central midfield – Lucas Torreira

The Uruguayan could be given the chance to impress ahead of the FA Cup final, also allowing Dani Ceballos the chance to catch his breath after another busy display on Saturday.

Central midfield – Granit Xhaka

The 27-year-old has become such a key cog in Arteta’s Arsenal machine that he should keep his place at the heart of the team.

 Right-winger – Reiss Nelson

The youngster impressed against Liverpool and although he lost his place for the FA Cup semi-final, he could be given another chance to show what he can do against Aston Villa.

Left-winger – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Arteta could rest his captain, but with Arsenal still in with a slim chance of qualifying for the Europa League through the Premier League, Aubameyang may well start at Villa Park.

Striker – Eddie Nketiah

After serving his suspension, the young striker could return to the starting XI in place of Alexandre LacazetteNketiah will be keen to get back to scoring ways after seeing Lacazette hit form in recent weeks.
