A very warm welcome to the Gooner Fanzine's live blog as Arsenal take on Aston Villa.
We'll have all the action from the Emirates as the Gunners look to continue their good run of form.
Make sure to leave your thoughts on the game in the comments at the bottom of the page. We'd love to hear from you.
Full-time. Aston Villa 1-0 Arsenal. Trezeguet's goal wins it for Villa, but that frankly was not good enough from the Gunners who are brought crashing back down to earth after wins over Liverpool and Man City. Not a single shot on target proves Mikel Arteta still has plenty of work to do. Thanks for joining us on the Gooner Fanzine live blog. Enjoy the rest of your night.
77'- POST! Pepe's corner is met by Nketiah who glances his header against the post before Reina just about gathers. That's the closest Arsenal have come. 1-0
75'- CHANCE! Davis breaks through the Arsenal defence but can only drag his effort wide. The Gunners get away with one there. 1-0
72'- Just under 20 minutes remaining at Villa Park. Arsenal might need something special to get a result here. 1-0
59'- Double change for Arsenal. Pepe and Tierney replace Saka and Luiz. A change of shape to come maybe? 1-0
56'- CHANCE! An opportunity for Villa now as a ball into the box breaks for Guilbert, but Holding is there to block for Arsenal. 1-0
54'- CHANCE! Arsenal growing into this as they break at pace. Nketiah's low cross is deflected but it breaks for Aubameyang who sees is effort blocked on the turn. 1-0
51'- CHANCE! Soares crosses from the right and Aubameyang nearly meets it. The ball drops for Saka but he can only hook his effort well over the bar. 1-0
50'- Nearly a chance for Arsenal as Ceballos and Kolasinac combine down the left, but the midfielder can't wriggle free in the box as he's crowded out. 1-0
48'- Villa still look the more threatening side in the early stages of this second half as they press forward. 1-0
46'- Back underway at Villa Park. No surprise as Torreira is replaced by Xhaka. Arsenal need a response here. 1-0
I wouldn't be surprised to see some Arsenal changes at the break. Torreira has been far too conservative in his play while Pepe's ball-carrying ability has been missed.
Half-time. Aston Villa 1-0 Arsenal. Trezeguet's goal separates the teams at the break but it's been a poor first 45 minutes. The Gunners have failed to create anything of note and are yet to have a shot on target despite lots of possession. Arteta will certainly be getting into his team at the break.
45'- CHANCE! Arsenal lose the ball and Villa break. Grealish gets the ball on the left, cuts inside and shoots, but his effort is just wide. 1-0
27'- GOAL Villa. Despite seeing all the ball Arsenal are behind. The Gunners fail to clear a corner and it falls to Trezeguet inside the area who smashed the ball past a helpless Martinez. Work to do for Arteta's men. 1-0
24'- First drinks break of the game. The 'Back Arteta, Kroenke Out' banner has been the highlight so far. Arsenal have had nearly 70 per cent possession but no clear cut chances yet. 0-0
21'- Arsenal looking by far the better side so far, but the game is really yet to get going at Villa Park. 0-0
13'- Arsenal get forward with Saka down the left and he crosses for Nketiah, but the striker can't get a shot on goal under pressure from Mings. 0-0
12'- No chances yet for either side as they settle into the game. Arsenal seeing more of the ball though. 0-0
8'- While I'm sure a lot of Arsenal fans agree with the sentiment, the whole flying banners over football grounds seems like a pointless waste of time to me. 0-0
7'- A plane is currently flying over Villa Park with a banner that reads: "Back Arteta, Kroenke Out."
5'- Looks like Arsenal have lined up with Aubameyang on the left of the attack, Lacazette through the middle and Nketiah on the right. 0-0
1'- Underway at Villa Park. 0-0
Teams are out at Villa Park. Kick-off is moments away.
Just five minutes till kick-off at Villa Park. What are your thoughts ahead of tonight's game?
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could do with a few goals tonight as he chases the Premier League golden boot. Arsenal stars of the past have scored plenty of goals at Villa Park, with Ted Drake netting all seven in a 7-1 win in 1935, while Tony Woodcock bagged five in a 6-2 victory in 1983. Aubameyang could do with a similar performance tonight.
Tonight will be the 195th meeting between Arsenal and Aston Villa, with the Gunners getting the better of the fixture with 83 wins. The first game between the teams was on October 8, 1904 when Woolwich Arsenal won 1-0 at the Manor Ground thanks to a goal from William Henry Gooing. The most recent fixture was a 3-2 Arsenal win back in September.
History certainly favours Arsenal tonight. Aston Villa have lost six consecutive Premier League matches against Arsenal, by an aggregate score of 19-3. Villa are also winless in 17 Premier League home fixtures (D7, L10), since a 3-2 triumph on 13 December 1998.
