Arsenal player ratings

Bernd Leno: 4 – Could he have done better with Kane’s goal. Distribution not as good as it should have been

Hector Bellerin: 3 – Not a good performance

Rob Holding: 4 – Won his aerial duels

Gabriel: 4 – See above

Kieran Tierney: 6 – Committed. A powerful crosser. A busy afternoon up and down the flank.

Thomas Partey: 5 – Injured but was quiet before that

Granit Xhaka: 3 – Poor in the tackle. Overrun in midfield. Booked. Not good enough

Bukayo Saka: 6 – Arsenal's best player. Didn't hide. Always wanted the ball

Willian: 1 – Who else is fed up of substandard Chelsea rejects at Arsenal?

Alexandre Lacazette: 4 – Gave his all but unfortunately his best at WHL wasn't good enough

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: 3 – His body language was as worrying as his pre-match interview. A real concern

Substitutes

Dani Ceballos (45′ on for Partey): 5 – Creative but not as effective as he would have liked against Hojbjerg

Eddie Nketiah (75′ on for Bellerin): N/A
