Bernd Leno - 7 - The German had so little to do, he could have had a nap. He will be delighted with a fifth consecutive clean sheet.

Cedric Soares - 8.5 - I've been a regular critic of Cedric, but even I must admit, he was excellent against Newcastle. The Portuguese international helped balance the side and provided a willing runner down the right, capping off a fine evening with an assist for the third goal.

Rob Holding - 7.5 - For the second time a fortnight, Holding was put to the test against Andy Carroll. Just like in the FA Cup tie, the Arsenal man came out on top in a dominant display at the back.

David Luiz - 7 - A quiet evening for the Brazilian who put in a decent display.

Kieran Tierney - 8 - The Scot put it in yet another fine display, popping up time and time again on the left to pick out a team-mate in the final third. Tierney's reputation as an Arsenal cult hero continues to grow.

Thomas Partey - 9 - The Ghanian was outstanding on his return to the side. Consistently picking the right pass, bringing a sense of calm in midfield, composed on the ball, always reading danger and winning the ball back with ease, he looks to have it all. The Arsenal faithful have been waiting for the heir to Patrick Vieira, and although it's early days, it looks as if Partey can be the man they've longed for.

Granit Xhaka - 8 - Mikel Arteta acknowledged the midfielder's form since his Burnley meltdown, and Xhaka continued his good run with another fine display on Monday night. Composed on the ball and always looking to go forward, he provided Arsenal with the perfect base to go and play from. He even seems to have discovered how to tackle too, while Partey looks to be just the partner he's needed.

Bukayo Saka - 8.5 - Another superb display from the talented youngster. Saka posed a constant threat as Newcastle struggled to deal with his movement in the final third, and he punished them a neat finish on the hour.

Emile Smith Rowe - 8.5 - The youngster continues to be a revelation. Smith Rowe put in another lively and energetic display, with Arsenal seeming to come alive whenever he got on the ball. There was end product for all his efforts too, putting the ball on a plate for Saka to double the lead.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - 8.5 - The Arsenal skipper was in need of a confidence boost, but a shocking first-half miss would have didn't little to help. Aubameyang proved that like with every top player, form is temporary but class is permanent, opening the scoring with a cool finish before slotting home the Gunners' third in a much-improved performance.

Alexandre Lacazette - 7.5 - A typically selfless display from the Frenchman who worked his socks off and helped link Arsenal's attacks.

Substitutes

Mohamed Elneny - 7 - Kept Arsenal ticking over after replacing Partey.

Willian - N/A - The Brazilian came on late in the game, therefore avoiding the ruthless rating I've given him far too often this season.

Gabriel Martinelli - N/A - Had little time to impact the game, but it's just good to see him fit and playing.
