Australian goalkeeper Mat Ryan has joined Arsenal on loan for the rest of the season from Brighton & Hove Albion.
The 28-year-old Australian international joins as cover for Bernd Leno after fears over previous No2 Rúnar Alex Rúnarsson.
Ryan made 124 appearances since signing for the Seagulls side in 2017.
The move comes after Mat Macey's departure from the Gunners to Hibernian following the departure of Emi Martinez to Aston Villa in the summer.
Technical director Edu said: “Mat is an experienced goalkeeper, a proven talent in the Premier League and has also played many internationals for Australia.
"Mat will further strengthen our squad with his experience and knowledge of playing at the highest level.
"Following Matt Macey’s recent move to Hibernian, Mat will provide very good competition and positive support to all our goalkeepers and we are looking forward to him integrating quickly into the set-up here at Arsenal.”
Arsenal moved for the Australian, after Runarrson, the 25-year-old former Dijion keeper failed to impress since his arrival in the summer - culminating in an unconvincing game during the 4-1 defeat against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup before Christmas.
