50'- CHANCE! Ryan is called into action as Watkins has a go from range and forces a low save from the goalkeeper. Villa keep it alive though and Watkins meets a cross at the far post, but Ryan makes the stop again. 1-0

44'- CHANCE! Arsenal recycle a free-kick and the ball makes its way to Pepe on the right. Targett blocks his left-footed effort but it drops back to Ivorian who then blasts wide with his right. 1-0

31'- CHANCE! Villa so close to making it 2-0. Traore wriggles his way through the Arsenal defence and finds himself one-on-one with Ryan, but the goalkeeper stands tall and makes the save before Gabriel blocks Barkley's follow up shot. 1-0
29'- SAVE! Partey wins a free-kick which Xhaka takes from all of 30 yards. His strike is heading for the top corner, but Martinez gets across to claw it away. 1-0
28'- Arsenal move the ball around nicely on the edge of the area and Pepe is slipped through. He shoots but his effort is deflected and Martinez collects with ease. 1-0
21'- No real chances since the Villa goal. Arsenal nearly make an opening as Lacazette clips a pass over the top to Saka, but Martinez gets to the ball first. 1-0
1'- GOAL VILLA. Just the start Arsenal would not have been looking for. Cedric plays Gabriel short with a pass on the edge of the box and Traore nips in to win the ball before squaring for Watkins to turn home. 1-0
