The Arsenal family has once again shown its true colours and rallied around a fallen brother.
When loyal Gooner Wilf Earls sadly passed away after bravely battling Covid, friends, family, old colleagues and pals started a fundraiser to ensure the Royal Mail employee was given the send-off he deserved.
Arsenal supporters quickly helped to see that funeral costs for the much respected Wilf were covered.
Loyal friend Mick Doherty was one of many who stepped up to help.
He said: "Wilf was a larger than life character from Holloway, very popular with his fellow Arsenal supporters and ex-colleagues after his many years working for the Post Office.
"We are all deeply shocked and saddened by Wilf's untimely death after a battle with the Covid virus."
Wilf left behind wife Debbie and daughters Kelly, Sam and Hayley - all of who have been great touched by the generosity of his friends and former workmates, as well as the wider Arsenal family.
They added: "We are overwhelmed from the support everyone has shown over the last two days.
"Our hearts are truly broken, a part of us has gone forever. Nothing will ever take our pain away, but knowing how much dad was loved makes us so proud.
"He was an incredible husband, dad, grandad and friend. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts."
