Former Arsenal, Liverpool and England footballer Ray Kennedy has died at the age of 70 following a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.

The much-loved Kennedy, an integral member of the Arsenal team that won the First Division and FA Cup Double in 1971 moved to Anfield in 1974 as Bill Shankly's final signing.

Kennedy would go on to achieve further success at Anfield where won three European Cups and five league titles playing under Bob Paisley. 

The north-easterner from Seaton Delaval later joined Swansea City before retiring from the game.

He was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 1984. 

Arsenal and Liverpool played a testimonial for him at Highbury in 1991.
