Arsenal make Vlahovic bid
Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic could be heading to the Emirates this month after Arsenal submitted a bid for the Serbian star.
Reports in Italy claim the Gunners have tabled an offer of around £46m for the 21-year-old, with Lucas Torreira included in the deal.
Torreira is currently on loan at Fiorentina and has impressed for the Serie A side this season, with Arsenal hoping the fee and the midfielder will be enough to secure Vlahovic’s services now rather than in the summer.
Since joining La Viola from Partizan in 2018, the striker has scored 47 goals in 104 games, with 33 of those coming in 2021 as he equalled Cristiano Ronaldo's record for the most Serie A goals in a calendar year.
Vlahovic is one of a number of forwards being tracked by Arsenal, with Lille’s Jonathan David and Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak also on their shortlist.
Maitland-Niles set for Roma move
Ainsley Maitland-Niles is closing in on a move to Roma after Arsenal cleared a loan bid, according to the Daily Mail.
The two clubs are yet to reach a final agreement, but the deal is expected to an include an option that would see the 24-year-old move to the Serie A club permanently in the summer.
Arsenal are expected to hold talks with Roma in the coming days.
Ferdinand urges Gunners to sign Isak
Rio Ferdinand has urged Arsenal to make a move for Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak.
Reports in Spain have claimed that the Gunner are leading the race to sign the Swedish frontman, with the Basque club refusing to sell the striker to La Liga rivals Barcelona.
Speaking on the VibeWithFive podcast, Ferdinand expressed his belief that Isak would be a good signing should Mikel Arteta make a move for him.
“He will be a good signing. Another young talented player,” said Ferdinand.
“He has done really well in the Euros for Sweden, I thought. He is a talented player, man.”
Isak scored has 38 goals in 101 games for Real Sociedad since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2019.
