Arsenal midfielder Kathrine Kuhl featured for the club’s U21 side on Wednesday afternoon in a 2-2 draw against Southampton.

Kuhl has watched all six of Arsenal’s Women’s Super League games from the bench this season, with all of her minutes coming from the bench in Champions League qualifying.

The Danish midfielder became a regular starter in the second half of the 2022/23 season amidst Arsenal’s injury crisis, but has now fallen behind the likes of Kim Little, Lia Walti, Frida Maanum Kyra Cooney-Cross in the midfield pecking order despite Victoria Pelova’s long-term injury.

Kuhl, who spent the end of last season on loan at Everton, did start twice for Denmark in the recent international break, including scoring against South Africa.

First teamers Katie Reid and Naomi Williams also featured for the U21s away to Southampton, with Reid and Kuhl playing 60 minutes and Williams playing the first-half before being replaced in goal by Maddison Millington-Stanbury.

The young Gunners came from a goal behind twice to seal a 2-2 draw thanks to goals from Milly Boughton and Lucy Lyon.

Elliot Allum’s side then clinched a bonus point, winning 4-2 on penalties.
