Arsenal have confirmed the date of the FA Youth Cup final.

Jack Wilshere's talented Young Guns edged past Manchester City in the semi-final at the Emirates last week in dramatic circumstances thanks to Myles Lewis-Skelly's last-gasp goal in the final minute of extra-time to send the crowd into raptures.

The result ensured that the Arsenal U18s reached the final of the competition for the first time since 2018 - having not lifted the trophy since Wilshere was part of the group that was successful in 2008-09 when beating Liverpool 6-3 on aggregate including a 4-1 victory in front of 33,000 at the Emirates.

The club have confirmed that Wilshere's U18s side will now face West Ham United in the FA Youth Cup final at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, April 25 at 7pm.

Route to the final

It has been a dramatic route to the final for Arsenal, which started by thrashing Millwall 6-0 at Meadow Park in round three before Christmas.

The youngsters then beat Newcastle United 3-2 prior to  overturning a two-goal deficit to beat Watford 4-2 at Vicarage Road. The Gunners then found a last-minute winner to overcome Cambridge United 3-2 in the quarter-finals in front of more than 8,000 at the Emirates.

West Ham

The Hammers defeated Sheffield United, Burnley, Stoke City and Ipswich Town away from home, before routing Southampton 6-1 to earn a place in their first final since since 1999.
