Arsenal defender edges closer to Gunners exit

Arsenal defender Cedric Soares is edging ever closer to a move to Fulham.

The Gunners will see their first exit during this January's transfer window with Cedric's loan move to the Cottagers. 

It is understood the Portuguese international will move across the capital in a six month deal - with no obligation or option to buy.

Fulham will cover his £100,000 a week wages after Fulham boss Marco Silva was keen to bolster his backlne by drafting the experienced Cedric.

Silva knows the 31-year-old Cedric well, having been his boss when the defender played for him at Sporting Lisbon. 

Cedric has struggled for game time this term following Arteta's tactical switch in moving Ben White to right-back.

The decision meant Cedric was effectively third choice behind White and Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Cedric goes with Arteta's wishes as Cedric remains popular inside the club and is seen as a model profesional .
