Arsenal aren’t looking to back down on their hopes to sign Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.
The Gunners have reportedly had a second bid turned down for a fee believed to be around the £70m mark.
Brighton have expressed that Caicedo is not for sale, despite the midfielders very public plea of his desire to take on a new challenge elsewhere.
Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi was clear on his intentions to keep hold of Caicedo, however admitted to the media that his side are ready to move forward without him should they need to.
Following Arsenal’s FA Cup defeat to Manchester City, there was a sense of reality when it came to the effectiveness of the squad with and without Thomas Partey.
The Ghanaian was taken off at half time due to injury, and Arsenal’s midfield looked ropey at times without his presence.
It’s a huge price to pay for a 21-year-old, however the transfer market isn’t for the fainthearted these days, if Arsenal want their man, they will simply have to pay what Brighton desire.
