Arsenal in race to sign young star Desire Doue

Arsenal are ready to compete with FA Cup winners Manchester United as well as German double winners Bayer Leverkusen in the race to sign Rennes teenage star Desire Doue.

The Gunners are aiming to bolster their attacking options in a bid to go one beter than last term and land the Premier League title for the first time in 21 years next May - and believe Doue could be a welcome addition to Mikel Arteta's squad.

The exciting French U23 youngster scored four goals while grabbing six assists in 43 games for Rennes this season, with their lack of European football next season meaning they will struggle to keep the coveted star at Roahazon Park.

Doue is under contract until June 2026 but it is understood the talented teen will be sold in the summer as he has long been identified as one of the most promising French young talents.

The club are demanding £35m plus substantial add-ons.
