Saka and Rice named in Lee Carsley’s first England squad

Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice have been named in Lee Carsley’s first England squad for the September international break.

The Arsenal pair make the squad for the Nations League campaign against the Republic of Ireland at Aviva Stadium at 5pm on Saturday, September 7, before Carsley's side host Finland at Wembley Stadium at 745pm on Tuesday, September 10.

However, Gunners defender Ben White has still not been included, despite Gareth Southgate and Steve Holland's departure following Euro 2024.

Departing Gunners keeper Aaron Ramsdale is also omitted from Carsley's first squad.

Rice played every minute of every match at the Euros and has three goals in 58 games for the country, while Saka has now made 40 appearances for the national team, scoring 12 goals, after playing every match of England’s Euro 2024 tournament.
