After Jen Beattie called time on her Arsenal career after eight years as a Gunner, Arsenal supporters, players and staff have all payed tribute to the popular centre-back.
Beattie joined NWSL expansion club Bay FC on a permanent transfer.
In an open letter to Arsenal's supporters, Beattie wrote: "I don't think there was ever going to be a right time to leave Arsenal because it was never going to be an easy decision. I’ve had so many conflicting emotions. When I think of Arsenal, I think of home, and I think of family, and that’s because of all of you."

She has helped to bring titles to our club and as a person, she is a great example of strength. We wish her success and happiness in the USA and she is welcome here in her home at any time.”
I had the opportunity to speak to @jbeattie91 in Arsenal’s press conference ahead of the first leg of last season’s UWCL semi-final, and Jen’s insight into Leah Williamson’s ACL injury just a few days after it happened was honest and perceptive ?? pic.twitter.com/iRWxRKlV9z

Away from the pitch, Jen Beattie worked with Arsenal's commercial and partnerships teams last season as well as mentoring academy players ??This season she took on an increased role within Arsenal’s football department as Performance Lifestyle Lead ??
— Freddie Cardy (@CardyFreddie) February 2, 2024
Turns out, I actually have a far away shot of 'that' goal. The most epic of Beattie headers ? Big game moments for the Arsenal simply won't be the same without Jen up front. pic.twitter.com/dmpJkUcCdJ

Arsenal Director of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley: “Jen leaves Arsenal with the respect and admiration of every one of us. She has been a wonderful player for us across two periods here and we’re excited to watch her in this new chapter. It’s a sad moment to say goodbye to such an important Arsenal figure, but Jen will always be part of this family and we look forward to seeing her soon.”
Not really an on pitch moment, more so that she, especially in recent years when she hasn’t played as much, has been a constant source of support for the other players. Such a top pro who represents what the club is all about??
