Arsenal set to make sensational £75m swoop for Manchester City attacker

Julian Alvarez is available for £75m

Arsenal are considering making a £75m sensational swoop for a Manchester City attacker.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has already raided his old club for striker Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko - with the North Londoners set to make it three.

Striker Julian Alvarez is on the radar of the North Londoners as they aim to move from twice runners-up to City to finally land the Premier League title for the first time in 22 long years.

Pep Guardiola's side pipped the Gunners to the Premier League title on the final day of last season by two points to make it four titles on the bounce.

Speculation has risen after Alvarez hinted he wants more game time.

Speaking before his Argentian side were knocked out by France of the Olympic football quarter-finals in Bordeaux on Friday evening" "At City I feel very good, I played a lot of minutes. But we will see after the games."

"First, if I can, I will take a few days off. Then we will decide.

"Maybe it's annoying to be out in big games, players always want to help on the pitch. But my season was good, so I'm very happy."

Striker Eddie Nketiah is set to join Marseille, while previous targets Joshua Zirkzee and Benjamin Sesko declined the chance to join the Emirates outfit.

With Brentford's new striker Igor Thiago ruled out for the rest of 2024, long-term Arsenal target Ivan Toney will not be sold - meaning the Gunners still require a frontman - with Alvarez emerging as the club's preferred choice.
