Napoli's Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen

Napoli's Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen, 25, is waiting for an offer from Arsenal according to reports coming out of Italy.

Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport say Osimhen understands the Gunners are set to reach out to the player's representatives - with the North Londoners seeking a top level striker to bolster their attacking options.

Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed the 25-year-old will leave this summer after four years in Italy to join either "Real Madrid, Paris St-Germain or an English club".

"We've known all this since last summer, which is also why negotiations for the extension of his contract, although friendly, took so long," he added.

However, De Laurentiis also believes Osimhen is partly to blame for the club's woes this campaign.

Meaning the disgruntled stiker is set to look elsewhere after feeling scapegoated by the controverisal chairman - with Arsenal the perfect fit.

Sporting director Edu is hoping to seal the deal for £60m before the start of Euro 2024.

The striker had signed a new deal in December 2023 that runs until 2026 with the Italian club after a stella year.

The 25-year-old scored 26 Serie A goals in 32 appearances in 2022-23 as he helped Napoli win their first league title in 33 years.

Osimhen, who managed 31 goals in all competitions during the 2022-23, was crowned the Italian footballers' association player of the year for 2023 - as well as being named as the African Footballer of the Year for 2023.
