Arsenal are targeting an exciting transfer move for Shakhtar Donetsk ace Mykhaylo Mudryk – dubbed the Ukrainian Neymar.
According to reports the 21-year-old has emerged as a late target for Mikel Arteta this summer.
It wouldn’t be the first time the former FC Dnipro youth has played for a team with the word Arsenal in their name, as Mudryk has also turned out for Arsenal Kyiv on loan from parent club Donetsk in 2019.
Mudryk is understood to be available for £17m as the final days of the transfer window tick down.
Despite the Gunners being top of the Premier League with an impressive three wins from three matches, including Saturday’s imperious 3-0 triumph on the south coast against Bournemouth, Arteta still wants to bolster his squad ahead of a long season – and the Ukrainian attack-minded central midfield fits the bill perfectly.
Lucas Paqueta had been Arteta’s top target, but Arsenal have no intention of paying the £55m fee Ligue 1 side Lyon are demanding – leaving Arsenal to weigh up the possibility of making an offer for the talented young star.
