Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey to miss Sheffield United game confirms Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta
Mikel Arteta has revealed Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey will miss Saturday’s Premier League clash with Sheffield United through injury.
Speaking in his pre-Blades press conference, the boss opened up about Jesus’ issue: “The scan shows that there is a muscle injury and we might lose him for a few weeks again. With Gabby I cannot give you any timeframe because he always surprises us, but there is something there.
"He felt it in a really awkward action and it’s true he’s had quite a lot of load in the last few weeks with the national team and then playing those games, which he hasn’t done in a long, long time. That’s really bad news for us.”

Arsenal vs Sheffield United team news
Arsenal:
Arsenal will be missing the influential Gabriel Jesus' after the Brazil star picked up a hamstring issue late on at Sevilla, following his superb performance.
The 26-year-old former Manchester City attacker, made one and scored one at the atmospheric Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium, during Arsenal's vital 2-1 victory over Sevilla - which saw the Gunners move to the top of Group B.
Despite the striker playing down the severity of the issue, boss Arteta admitted in his post-match press conference after the game that was was 'worried' - since borne out by his admission on Friday that Jesus will be out for a 'few weeks.'
Thomas Partey also misses match and faces a spell on the sidelines after picking up a muscle injury.
“He’s got a muscle injury and we are expecting him to be out for a few weeks,” Mikel added. “We don’t really know the extent of it and he has more tests today, but he picked up that injury in a training session with the last kick of the ball before Sevilla, so it was very unfortunate.
“He was coming from a period of absence and he needed minutes. He played with the national team and we try to be always in touch with them. Then we had two games with Chelsea and Sevilla very very close and we decided not to load him in the first game to play him in Sevilla, and then that happened in training, so sometimes it’s difficult.
“If he were to get injured against Chelsea or against City you would’ve said that we had rushed him, but then you rest him and he gets injured. It’s just things that happen in football.”
Another who played well in Spain was Japanese defender Takehiro Tomiyasu - who will be aiming to keep his place at left-back instead of Oleksandr Zinchenko, who has been underwhelming recently and was subbed at half time during last weekend's 2-2 draw at Chelsea.
Sheffield United team news:
The Blades have a number of injury issues to deal with Chris Basham and John Egan both long-term absentees.
Defender Anel Ahmedhodzic is out with a hamstring injury, while striker Ollie McBurnie was forced off against Manchester United with a groin problem.
