Arsenal wait to pounce after Leicester drop strongest Tielemans transfer hint yet as saga endgame approaches

Leicester City have dropped thier strongest hint yet regarding the transfer saga that is Youri Tielemans to Arsenal.

The on-off deal has been runb.ing all summer as Mikel Arteta aims to boost his squad ahead of next week's transfer deadline.

Despite the Gunners majestically sweeping into top spot on the back of three excellent wins from three - including brushing aside Brendan Rodgers Foxes 4-2 at the Emirates two weekends ago.

The fact that long-term transfer target Tielemans was afforded a warm reception by the Arsenal faithful was an indication that the talented Belgian international is firmly in the Gunners sights.

And with Leicester having a rocky start to the season, with the club's squad engulfed in uncertainty - witness Chelsea's ongoing pursuit of defender Wesley Fofana, the lack of clairty at the Foxes regarding certain players is starting to take its toll, as evidenced by their home defeat to Southampton on Saturday.

As boss Rodgers admitted in a huge hint, when discussing coming into a Premier League game with players that maybe aren't quite in the right frame of mind, he said: "You cannot carry them and certainly, we can't, so yes that is the reason.

"I don't know," Rodgers added afterwards when asked about the futures of his players. "There are a few offers for some players nowhere near the valuation the club would want to sell. None of them are for sale but I know how the game works.

"There’s a few weeks to go. I don't know what's going to happen."

As ever, the saga rolls on. One thing is for certain, Arsenal, Arteta and Edu aren't giving up their hunt for the coveted Tielemans.
