Arsenal Women's Digital Gooner Fanzine: Update

Hello, and welcome to the Arsenal Women's Digital Gooner Fanzine update.

Firstly, a massive thank you to everyone who read our first free digital issue - at the last count we had more than 150,000 readers - which was just incredible.

Such large numbers also underline the fact that there is a huge demand for outstanding independent writing on the Arsenal's Women's football team - which we, here at the Gooner, believe we can provide.

So, after the heartening success of our pilot digital issue, it is with great delight we can announce that we will be running four Arsenal Women's Digital Gooner Fanzine's across the 2024-25 WSL season - starting with the much-anticipated opener against Manchester City on September 22.

Freddie Cardy writes

The pilot issue of the Gooner Fanzine: Arsenal Women edition remains one of my proudest achievements as part of the Gooner team, and that’s thanks to the hard work of everyone involved.

I can still remember beaming on the bus home when Layth sent me the first drafts!

I was so proud that such a variety of contributors wrote so passionately for our first AWFC fanzine, and it was really enjoyable to assemble a talented team of writers.

With more than 150,000 of you enjoying what we put together, let’s do it all again!

Freddie

PS:

It's early days of course, and we will be crunching the numbers and analysing the response to our efforts across the season, but if all goes well, and the demand matches our projections we may well be looking to publish a printed effort this time next year - but we'd need concrete support first.  More on this later in the year - but for now let's simply ensure our Arsenal Women's Digital Gooner Fanzine continues to be read in such numbers.
