Arsenal Women will lose three players to international duty later this month when the CONCACAF W Gold Cup kicks off in the USA.

The Gold Cup group stage starts on February 21, with the final set for March 11.

Goalkeeper Sabrina D'Angelo and forward Cloe Lacasse have been called up by Canada. Arsenal signed French shot-stopper Sarah Bouhaddi in January as short-term cover for D'Angelo.

January signing Emily Fox started all four 2023 FIFA Womens World Cup games for the US and will feature for her country at the Gold Cup.

Both the USA and Canada will be among the favourites to win the tournament.

Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall was asked at the start of February about when his side's USA and Canada contingent will go to the Gold Cup.

"The formal dates where associations can demand their players, as set in the FIFA regulations, come before the Man United game," said Eidevall.

"It's the Monday [12th], the week before the actual tournament commences."

"Then, it's a discussion with the different associations that can call up players to see what's best for the players, what's best for the national team, what's best for the club team and finding solutions there. I think that's not a straightforward answer.

"It might be that different associations view that differently, and we will communicate that in due time when we know."

Canada have not called up D'Angelo and Lacasse to their pre-tournament camp, which takes place from February 11 to 18, and head coach Bev Priestman confirmed today (Wednesday 7th) that they should be available to face Manchester United before joining up with their international side.
