Assessing Arsenal Title Chances ahead of New Premier League Season

Arsenal have proved their credentials as title challengers after pushing Manchester City for top spot in the Premier League in consecutive seasons.

Mikel Arteta will be confident his side can go one better this time around and lift the famous trophy in 2025. The Gunners are gearing up for the new campaign with huge optimism and a genuine belief that they can get the better of Pep Guardiola's men and be crowned champions of England.

If you are keen to back Arsenal in the Premier League this season you can wager via bet way to add an extra layer of excitement and intrigue to matches. Requiring more knowledge before making your picks? This article will explore the Gunners' chances of finishing first.

Exploring Squad Strength

Arsenal have already strengthened the squad with the acquisition of Italy defender Riccardo Calafiori. Having helped Bologna qualify for the Champions League with a fourth-placed finish, the centre-back then also impressed at the Euros for his national side. Strong in the air and a solid reader of the game, Calafiori is perfect for the modern game as he is comfortable on the ball and enjoys striding out from the back to progress the team up the pitch.

The addition of Calafiori further solidifies backline which already features William Saliba and Gabriel who together helped Arsenal concede only 29 goals in the Premier League last time out. Then there is Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jurrien Timber who only made three appearances last season due to a campaign-ruining ACL injury endured on the opening day of last season. The Dutchman is expected to play an important role now he has returned to fitness.

Goalkeeper David Raya, meanwhile, has seen his switch from Brentford made permanent and will be aiming for another successful campaign after winning the Premier League Golden Glove award last season having recorded 16 clean sheets.

In midfield Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka will continue to have a major influence though Arteta is still looking at how he can bolster the midfield and forward positions to ensure Arsenal have enough depth to compete on four fronts both domestically and in the Champions League from August right through until May.

How does the Fixture List Look?

Across a Premier League season, of course each club must face each other twice, one game at home and another away, however the order of who you face can have a serious impact on form and ultimately your final standing come the end of campaign.

For Arsenal, they will head into 95% of games as firm favourites but will still be eager to put as many early points on the board as early possible. The Gunners though face a tricky August and September so will have to put in some top performances to achieve a strong start.

Though the opening day fixture at the Emirates Stadium against Wolves should see the team pick up three points, they then travel to Aston Villa who finished in the top four under former Arsenal boss Unai Emery last season and will provide a real test. Then, after hosting Brighton, the Gunners face a huge week, first heading to north London rivals Tottenham before travelling to Manchester to face fellow title contenders City. It's fair to say the opening five fixtures could decide the story of Arsenal's season, setting them on the path to greatness or leaving them with much to do so early on.

Towards the end of the campaign come May, when the Gunners could be in the hunt for first place or looking to maintain that top spot, they host Bournemouth before going to Anfield to play a Liverpool side who, right now, will be hoping they are also battling for the title under manager Arne Slot who replaced the legendary Jurgen Klopp this summer. Arsenal then have a home match with Newcastle before playing at Southampton on the final day.

Summing Up

The Gunners will again be the team tipped Man City hardest in the race for the Premier League title with many Arsenal fans and general football followers believing the team is capable of lifting the trophy. Many wagers will be placed on the side achieving glory with the club bolstering the squad ahead of what promises to be another thrilling campaign.
