We are disappointed Arsenal chose to reject our call for a freeze in ticket prices given the club will benefit from playing more home matches next season.
Arsenal are guaranteed to play at least one more game in Europe next season as the Champions League and Europa League group stages are expanded.
It could well be two more games with the extra knock out game being introduced. We had hoped that the extra revenue these games will generate would mean Arsenal could lessen the annual uplift.
These proposals mean a supporter buying an Arsenal season ticket for 2024-25 will pay approximately 10% more than this season.
This size of increase is unnecessary at a time when club revenues from broadcast and commercial revenues will increase by up to £150m over two seasons to exceed a predicted half a billion pounds during this current season.
Most disappointingly the club could have mitigated the impact of this price increase by making available the option of purchasing a 19 game Premier League only season ticket for those who wanted it, as happens at the vast majority of PL clubs.
An optional 19 game season ticket would not only have provided supporters with a more affordable purchase but more importantly it would have seen more tickets become available for red, silver and overseas members to buy, something the Club says is a priority.
Previous discussions with the Club had been positive about this option and we will continue to press for this for the 2025/26 season.
We welcome the decision to increase the support being given to the Junior Gunner category. This follows the discounts introduced previously for younger adults and students. Our young fans are the club’s future and this should help more young people to attend the Emirates.
However we are concerned at the decision to reduce the senior concession benefits offered including removing any option for new purchases of a discounted season ticket and greatly reducing the match by match discount.
We believe the Club could be more generous in the support it gives to this category of match attending supporter and we will closely monitor the impact of this decision and feedback from our members.
During recent discussions on ticketing arrangements we were pleased to secure a commitment that a full report on this season’s ballot outcomes would be provided to the Advisory forums and supporter groups with enough time to review so that changes can be made for next season.
We also welcome a commitment made at the Arsenal Advisory Board that further resources will go into the fight against touting and we will continue to press for more to be done here, together with more explanation around what has been achieved to date.
