Sarina Wiegman has selected Arsenal forward Beth Mead in England Women’s squad to face Scotland and the Netherlands in December’s Nations League fixtures.

Mead returned from an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury in mid-October, coming off the bench against Aston Villa to set up Alessia Russo’s winning goal.

She made her first start for Arsenal exactly a year to the day since rupturing her ACL, featuring in the win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.

Mead claimed the Golden Boot and Player of the Tournament award as England won Euro 2022, but missed the 2023 Women’s World Cup as a result of her ACL injury.

Her Arsenal teammates Alessia Russo and Lotte Wubben-Moy have also been included in Wiegman’s Nations League squad.

Mead wrote on Instagram: "Honoured & beyond excited to be back with the squad, it's been a while but can't wait to get back with them all."
