Arsenal beat Sevilla 2-1 in a sodden Andalusia to take control of their Champions League group at a raucous Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Gabriel Jesus set up Gabriel Martinelli for a superb breakaway goal on the stroke of half-time, before the Arsenal No 9 curled in an excellent second, prior to the home side pulled one back via Nemanja Gudelj.
Find out who impressed - and who didn't - in the Gooner Fanzine Player Ratings
GK: David Raya - 4/10 - Failed to convince with his distribution, nor with punching, nor his goalkeeping presence. The 28-year-old Barcelona-born keeper is severely lacking in confidence, and could have ended the match diverting the ball backwards into the net. Thankfully he didn't - but he still remains the elephant in the room
RB: Ben White - 7/10 - Mired in the backline to help get his team over the line, unable to help supplement Saka further forward
CB: William Saliba - 7.5/10 - A class act and is improving all the time
CB: Gabriel - 7/10 - Solid in the Sevilla downpour
LB: Takehiro Tomiyasu - 7.5/10 - Arguably his best performance in an Arsenal shirt. Augmented the defence with reliable positioning, not to mention blocks and tackles, while boosting colleagues further forward. Nearly scored with a fierce drive after only five minutes
CM: Martin Odegaard - 5/10 - Another quiet game for the Arsenal captain as the game largely bypassed the talented Norwegian
CM: Jorginho - 7/10 - Able to take the ball in tight situations and help prompt attacks while acting as a conduit for the defence to pass out without fear
CM: Declan Rice - 8.5/10 - Outstanding at the back as he dropped deeper to help keep his side ahead, while also displaying a genuine attacking threat. A world class talent
RW: Bukayo Saka - 7.5/10 - Saka dutifully tracked back while also providing an attacking threat
ST: Gabriel Jesus - 9/10 - Outstanding. As a provider with a glorious Cruyff turn, prior to releasing Martinelli with a perfect through ball. Then scored a second half cracker after cutting inside from the left channel to win the game for Arsenal
LW: Gabriel Martinelli - 7/10 - Scored an excellent goal and never let the Sevilla backline settle on a sodden evening in Andalusia
